The CGS Middle School Science curriculum is characterized by the making of connections. Students learn to make connections between the branches of science, between science and history, and between the scientific method and the rules of logic. They use the logic of the scientific method to test new knowledge through experimentation. Their course of study is as follows: Biology in 5th grade, Earth Science in 6th grade, Chemistry in 7th grade and Physics in 8th grade.
Middle School students have an additional period of study during the day, independent of their regular math and science classes, to work on interdisciplinary projects that encompass Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics. These include 3D Computer Modeling, Computer Programming, Structural Engineering, Robotics, Science Fair (independent research and presentations) and Group Research projects.
