Chicago Grammar School students in the sixth, seventh and eighth grades take the National Spanish Examination. The purpose of this annual contest is to recognize student achievement and to promote language proficiency in the study of the Spanish language.  The students are tested on their skills in reading, listening, vocabulary and grammar.  The National Spanish Examinations are the most widely used tests of Spanish in the United States.
