Background of the FounderPhillip D. Jackson II has been working with parents, children and teachers since 1988 at The Cove School, most recently, as Executive Director. Earlier in his career, he was Dean of Students and teacher of history at Hardey Preparatory School for Boys in Chicago from 1981-86. Over the years, he has also tutored numerous students in math, writing and history. Academically, Mr. Jackson has a B.A. in Music Theory from DePaul University in Chicago and a Masters in the Art of Teaching from The University of Illinois at Chicago; and has also completed numerous courses in accounting, audit, taxation and business law from Loyola University in Chicago. He has administrative (Principal) certification as well as teaching certification, which includes an endorsement in learning disabilities, from the Illinois State Board of Education. Based on 20+ years of experience in education, I have developed strong, informed opinions on the purpose of education and have learned a wide variety of means to deliver the service. On a more personal note, as a father of a young son, I am also driven to provide the best education for my child and the children of other like-minded parents.
