Qualifications and Criteria The Chicago Grammar School seeks to admit students from families who are committed to partnering with CGS educators for the purpose of the academic, social and emotional development of their children. The Chicago Grammar School admits the best-qualified candidates without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, disability, gender or sexual orientation. For preschool candidates, the admissions committee’s decisions are based on the child’s developmental readiness. For kindergarten and elementary school candidates, the admissions committee’s decisions are based on the child’s developmental readiness, academic record and on how the candidate compares to others applying for admission.
