Labor Day – no class

Columbus Day – no class

October 14 @ 8:30 am - 5:30 pm

It used to be simple:  celebrate the discovery of America and enjoy the day off.  Today, it's more complicated; and that's a good thing.  That being said, we recognize that Columbus Day classroom lessons must be developmentally appropriate:  we begin with identifying who, where and when before analyzing why.  So while our youngest students chant "Columbus sailed the ocean blue in 1492,"  we guide our Junior High and Middle Schoolers through a critical examination of the traditional Columbus narrative - inviting…
